Dad is Turning 80

Wow, 80 years old.  It is hard to comprehend that sentence because I have never thought of him as being in that age bracket.  He chose to work until he was 72 and then decided to coach tennis 5 days a week.  He has played tennis all my life and even some before I was even thought of.  He coaches at a Private School in Ipswich on the weekdays and on weekends, he plays for himself.  He loves playing in the Masters, but of course, found that a bit harder to do when covid came along.  My hubby still comments on how when he played tennis with him once, it nearly killed him.  Dad had the ability of making Wayne run for every ball..  Not really fair but dad got a kick out of it..  Wayne has never played him since..

I made a 'Hugs and Kisses' quilt to celebrate his 80th - and he loved it.

My sister, dad, myself and Wayne have not long finished having breakfast at Cafe 63.  Lots of laughing was had and reminiscing.

My sister insisted on switching sides with me - what can I say - craziness runs in the family..

I am not known to adding labels to my quilts but thought it was a good idea for dad's quilt.
It was a good morning and it was great catching up..

Dad sent me a photo of the quilt on his bed..  I didn't know he had blue pillowcases.. Nice..

That's all for me today.
Happy Birthday Dad.

James' Birthday

Our middle son is having a birthday.  We, as the loving family we are, were not prepared ...lol

We had a 21st candle, plus a 9 candle and a star candle - presto - 31...lol

French Vanilla Cheesecake...
We went out for dinner at Tok Tok - it is a Korean BBQ restaurant.  This is one of James' favourite places to eat...mainly because Korean places use a lot of meat and small amounts of vegetables... I wonder if he is really my son because I love my vegies and can pass on the meats..

Ben came with us, he has been a friend of James since high school.  Every year he travels up from the border to spend the weekend with James and play computer games.  He is a lovely boy and it is always good to see him.

I ate way too much - I love their rice dish, but the meat, which was cooked at the table by James, was nice too.  Even though it is meat...  Look at all those empty bowls, we did good...
Happy Birthday James, hope you have had a fantastic day... Love you heaps..

Cheers
