We are doing a 11 day cruise to Papua New Guinea.. We have never been here before and it was not at the top of my bucket list but friends were going and asked if we would like to go.
'Did you pack your own bags?' I hear the customs people say - Oh course - and yet - what did I find when unpacking them..
Amy has been at it again - this little stow away was found in my bags.. So we took him on holidays with us..Ok, I think he has had enough attention - we will put him away now. He was enjoying himself way too much.
We got to have our photo taken with this Blyth's Hornbill after walking around the market.
We played cards on several occasions with Jimmy and Dale and soon learnt that they ship would deliver us food to the games room. Big mistake because we ate many a meal in this room. It was far to easy to grab ones phone and press buttons to have free food delivered straight to us.. Can I live here?
One night we had chocolate cake to celebrate Dale's birthday.
The night before our first port, we received this letter in our cabin. Everyone got one and it let me tell you, it made us fill a little uneasy. What have we got ourselves into.
I had a fall one night, walking back to our cabin - no I was not intoxicated at all.. I hurt my knee but the cabin steward was lovely and bought me a bag of ice to help with the swelling. Not too bad, just a bit of bruising. It didn't stop me from having fun..Second port is Rabaul - here you can see one of the volcanoes - this one last erupted in 2014. MMM, not that long ago.
Not a huge place and we didn't stay long on land but we saw enough..
See you later Rabaul. Hello ship..
We learnt to play canasta during this cruise, what a cool game.
The last island we saw was Conflict Island. This place is beautiful. We walked around the whole island and went swimming. Gorgeous.
Should I post a letter from here - maybe not..
Our ship in the distance..
Jimmy and Wayne swimming - gotta go cause I want to go in.. see ya.
The market area.. pretty carvings.
Our tender boat - lets get back to the ship.
Back on board - ahhhh . This is the life.
Sweet treat - my favourite.
Well it was a fabulous holiday, not sure we will ever go back to Papua New Guinea but the rest of the holiday was great.
I am already looking forward to our next cruise. Where should we go?
Cheers
xx
