The Shed - Rathdowney Road Trip

I don't know why they call it The Shed, I have always referred to it as The Olive Grove.  Anyhow, road trip today with hubby..  First stop, brekky at The Shed and maybe a little shopping...

Notice I put photos up of the lovely items for sale before the brekky photos - priorities...

I may or may not have come home with one of these...
Now, where did I leave Wayne?  Oh yeah... well someone has to hold the table...
Brekky - I was hungry but only ended up eating half of this - my eyes are definitely bigger than my belly..
It feels like we are being watched... mmmm - not my cup of tea but oh, well....
After our feast we headed to BigRiggen - this is a camp ground at Rathdowney.  We were curious to see how busy it was as we are planning on paying a visit, hopefully soon..
It was very busy - a traffic jam straight up..  Oh dear...  or should I say 'Holy Cow'  lol
This one is not mooooving until we hand over all the food...

Just can't help yourself - you gotta touch...   I actually think this is why the cow stopped us - he loved being patted..   We had to reverse and go bush to get around him or is it a her...
Afterwards we stopped at the park in Rathdowney - I did a little sewing while Wayne 'played' with his metal detector..  I am sure I was more productive...lol
Great morning - think I need a nap now...

A New Stitch A Long for 2022 - Spargo - January

Spargo - yep that is an unusual name for a quilt - that could be because it is not the real name of the quilt.

The proper name is - Homegrown - by Sue Spargo..  Our group have decided to sew one house per month and, of course, if we fall behind, no one is going to worry..

We are hoping to have it complete - you know - I have no idea - lol.  This means I may have forever to complete it - or not...

Here is my first block - January - Blossom Cottage

More will hopefully come later during the year...
cheers

Mad About Bags Christmas Swap - 12 Days of Christmas

Another fabulous swap run by Tracy from Madaboutbags (instagram)..  This swap entailed themes for 12 day.  My swap partner was Debbie from dgr04618 (instagram).  Open days are from the 25th December to the 5th January..

Here are the themes and gifts for each day...

1.  Christmas   - Debbie made me a gorgeous hexie stocking with a little mouse peeking out of the pocket - but that's not all....

I found santa inside - he is absolutely gorgeous and would have been enough on his own but Debbie was very generous and I received heaps more...
An unpicker, nail file, tea bag, chocolate black cats (these were really for hubby) and a snowman coaster...
I also found a very clever felt christmas tree...
Oh nearly forgot - that wasn't all - look at these gorgeous angel charms...  I am going to put my thinking cap on to find a special project for these beauties..

Day 2.  Personalised - How pretty, my own personalised stationery - perfect for my penpal group.

3.  Read ...   A new book with a wonderful title, I'm looking forward to getting stuck into this one and I can enjoy a cuppa with my pretty mug rug too...
4.  Notions - wow - I don't know where to start... scrapbook kit, triangle ruler, needle threader, cutting tool, sticky notes, scissors, pink thread, tin with binding clips, fabrics, pins and bobbin caddy.. phew, did I remember everything...  I must have been a really good girl cause Santa likes me...

5 - Eat, Drink, or Pamper - Bag full of treats - yum, these are not going to last long and if you notice the photo, there is a treat for my skin too - a beautiful hand made soap..
6.  Seasonal - Yippee - My seasonal item is for Easter - how clever is this table runner - I found it very hard to get a good photo of it as it is quite large..

7.. Colour - I have always wanted some of these, they protect your hands when you have something hot in a bowl.  I am not sure of their correct name but that didn't matter because hubby made use of one straight away..  Good choice for colour. I found three reusable clothes in this parcel as well... I love reusable gifts...

Day 8 - DIY -  3 Amazing projects to keep me busy ..
Day 9 - Essential for 2022....  More reusable items - these are mesh bags for using while shopping - they are brilliant and a set of reusable make removal swabs..  They are all brilliant.
Day 10 - Paper - A new Journal with stickers and tape... I have a confession - I have already made heaps of entries in the journal.  I couldn't wait and started playing with it straight way... doesn't it have a pretty cover too..
11 - Words and Letters - Wow - check these beauties out - they are perfect...  What a fantastic way to label ones seedlings in the garden and yes, the seeds were part of the gift too..
12.  Animal - Lucky last and again, Debbie has outdone herself..  I have two new beautiful tea towels and a homemade soap with a horse shape on the top..
Holy dooley - I have been amazed at the terrific gifts I have received in this swap..  Thank you Debbie, your gifts are fabulous and yes, I am very happy with everything...no actually, I am stoked with them all.
thanks

Mad About Bags Cracker Swap

This is the third year I have participated in Tracy's Cracker Swap.  You need an empty paper towel roll in which stuff it will bits and pieces, wrap it in a fat quarter and post to your partner.  I put my name down then immediately realised that I didn't have an empty paper towel roll.  So here I am, unrolling a full roll, just to get the centre out..lol  Glad the kids didn't see me..

Here is my roll of paper and my finished gift..

I received mine from rosies_studio, who just so happens to be Lisa of studio_lee's daughter.  It was wrapped in gorgeous fabric and full of handy items... you gotta love the little panels...
who can resist quokas...
Or  a cute platypus....

This is always a great swap.  I love finding out what has been hidden inside.
Thanks Rosie... you put together a fabulous cracker...
Cheers

Happy New Year 2022

Can you believe another year has gone by, and so fast too.  I wonder what this year has installed for us all.  Hopefully Covid will disappear from our everyday conversations and everyone has a fantastic year.

I can never stay up of New Years Eve, so this year I chose to celebrate it will a walk along a new trail in our area..  It was a little showery this morning but that only added to my joy as I got to use my beautiful umbrella.  I bought this one many years ago while visiting Tasmania.  It was from a shop that had been around since day dot...  I bought a couple but this one is definitely my favourite..

This was my first time visiting the new trail and I will admit that it was a tad eerie being here, alone, on this isolated trail..  Beautiful but eerie...  I guess I was up with the birds, and most people are sleeping in after meeting the new year in..

They have done a fabulous job building this trail - the paths are smooth and wide - heaps of room for groups or people with prams..

The birds played their music for me, the stream was running over the rocks, the rain patting my umbrella - yep - in heaven..

I did a little nature inspecting along my walk - you might say I stopped and smelled the roses, only not roses...

I love mother nature...   Anyhow, I hope everyone has a fab year - lots of laughter and lots of time doing what you love..  Happy New Year
